A new life form (Organism X = OX) is discovered in space and is being studied here on earth. After a period of time in unlabeled medium, you isolate proteins from the OX cells and cut the proteins into fragments with digestive enzymes like trypsin and chymotrypsin. Examining C-terminal (carboxy-terminal) and N-terminal (amino-terminal) fragments, you notice that the latter have much more radioactive label than the former. What does this allow you to conclude concerning protein synthesis in OX.
